The New Information Professional: Your Guide to Careers in the Digital Age by Judy Lawson, Joanna Kroll, and Kelly Kowatch is a very informative guide to the information field and various avenues that one can take in their career. The book features in-depth descriptions of planning a career in these information roles: Archives and Preservation of Information; Records Management; Library and Information Services; Human-Computer Interaction; Social Computing; Information Systems Management; Information Policy; and Information Analysis and Retrieval. There is even a full-length chapter on a step-by-step process in creating a career action plan that will lead to career fulfillment. I found this book to be very helpful in deciding which avenue I should take in the information field. I recommend this book to anyone searching for a job within the information field and especially to those just beginning their career planning process in the field. I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars.
